Seminars and Con Ed

Seagate Inspections, Inc. continues to be “Your Source for Information” by offering four 3-hour CEU classes this year as well as a number of short seminars that can be presented at a typical office meeting (presentation 15 – 20 minutes, Q&A 10 minutes.)  Please take a moment to review the following offerings.

3-hour Classes:

Common Building Problems and Design Flaws
This class will go over many of the typical problems we see in foundations, electrical systems, HVAC systems, the exterior envelope of the building (i.e. roof, siding, flashing details, windows, external water controls, etc.) and the basement/crawlspace issues.

Environmental Concerns in Real Estate
This class will address some of the common issues such as Lead Based Paint, Urea Formaldehyde Foam Insulation, Asbestos, Radon, Carbon Monoxide, and will touch on the hot topic of the day – MOLD.  This particular class will provide some basics on Mold.  The “Mold in the Indoor Environment” class is the one to have if you want more detailed information on mold since this topic is so important and there is so much information to present.

Mold in the Indoor Environment
This class will help your agents to understand more about MOLD; where it is, why, what causes it, etc.  We will get into the causes of mold in homes and the simple cures that always work.  We will teach your agents that mold needs four things to live – Oxygen, food source, temperature, and water.  The only one we can control is water.  We will show them where it comes from and what to do about it so they understand the issue from a building science standpoint.  This information is the solution to any mold problem.  We will also talk about testing procedures and other mold related issues.

Practical Property Evaluation
This class will teach agents how to perform an adequate 15 – 20 minute walk-thru of any property they may enter.  We will go over the telltale signs of problems in all of the major systems of the home.  We will also teach the agent how to tell the difference between a 60 Amp and 100 Amp service without taking the cover off!  This class is a must for all new agents but is also an excellent training class for any agent.
