Scott has over 20 years of experience in residential and commercial systems construction, evaluation, and repair. Scott’s training and work history in residential construction includes site preparation, masonry work, wood and steel beam construction, framing, roofing, and finish carpentry. His commercial experience was gained in the area of nursing home maintenance and includes an extensive knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems, as well as gas boilers, chillers, sprinklers, fire safety, and kitchen equipment.
Scott attended and graduated from the Professional Home Inspector’s Institute in Falls Church, VA back in the summer of 1995 and completed extensive field training prior to engaging with Seagate Inspections, Inc. in the fall of 1995.
Since his start, Scott has performed over 4,200 inspections of various types of properties (residential and commercial) and has also been involved in the teaching of various training seminars for Real Estate Agents, Home Inspectors, Lenders, etc.
Scott is a certified member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), having passed all levels of testing for membership and continues to meet or exceed the 20 hours of continuing education requirement yearly (ASHI Certified Member #204029). He is a Certified Carbon Monoxide Analyst, a certified Residential Mold Inspector (CRMI #13143), and a Certified EIFS Moisture Intrusion Specialist. Scott is actively involved in specialty inspection work and troubleshooting of construction defects. Scott often assists Jim Johnson in the investigative inspections and consultation for litigation.
